Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October 1964. She is an American politician. She is also the first female vice-president and the highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as being the first African American and second Asian American vice president. Being a part of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. After that, she was enlisted to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was appointed the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010 she was appointed Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior member of the United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. As a senator, she advocated for reforms to healthcare and federal de-scheduling of cannabis, a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants as well as the DREAM Act, a ban of assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her sharp questions of Trump administration officials at Senate sessions. This included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual abuse.
